Pittosporum tobira 'Nanum'
Pittosporum tobira 'Nanum' is a compact-growing cultivar of Pittosporum tobira, Japanese Mock Orange, so named because of its fragrant creamy white flowers that superficially resemble orange blossom. It has attractive foliage arranged on the stems in near-symmetrical rosettes giving it an exotic appearance.
Pittosporum tobira 'Nanum' is an undemanding plant in terms of soil and does best in full sun, tolerating some shade and its compact form is easily clipped to shape in early Spring before new growth commences.
Hardy in warm coastal or southerly locations or urban micro-climates it will probably need fleecing or - at the very least - the protection of an overhead canopy in colder locations or during severe sub-zero spells in winter. New growth may need protection from late frosts.
