Euphorbia x martinii, Martin's Spurge is a naturally-occurring hybrid between Euphorbia amygdaloides and Euphorbia characias. It red colouration during winter and red new-growth are an attractive addition to colour in the garden at a time when much of everything else tends to look somewhat bare. The red new shoots are quickly followed in early spring by superb lime-green flowers with a distinctive red inner eye.
Euphorbia x martinii does best in a well-drained fertile soil and will tolerate partial shade.
Care should be taken with all Euphorbias to avoid skin-contact - and in particular, eye-contact - with the white milky sap.
An easy rewarding evergreen.
