Selaginella kraussiana ‘Aurea’ is another cultivar of the spikemoss, Selaginella kraussiana with a golden to lime-green colouration on its feathery foliage. Like 'Gold Tips' it is true to say the very terminal tips of the growth is lighter but here the overall general appearance is noticeably more yellow. Forming a low, ground-cover in warmer southern or coastal locations it is also ideal in a container as an undemanding houseplant 'pet'. It needs a moist substrate, shade and moist humid air so if grown indoors it is ideal in a bathroom or on a kitchen window sill. Otherwise, mist frequently.
