Sedum reflexum
Sedum reflexum, Blue or Reflexed Stonecrop, is an excellent ground-covering drought-resistant Sedum with attractive blue-grey foliage that is ideal in succulent gardens, xerophytic plantings, roof gardens, vertical gardens and for popping into nooks and crannies in stonewalls. It has a vigourous mat-forming growth and its spiky-yet-soft foliage resembling Blue Spruce is a great contrasting planting combination with other broader-leaved rosette-forming Sedums particularly when worked into Sedum roofing or vertical gardens or draping over rocks and walls. It has small yellow flowers in mid to late summer.
A greenish foliage form of this Sedum also exists and there are several blue proprietary cultivars that don't add anything particularly special to the already wonderful type species and seem to be yet more horticultural marketing.
