Tricyrtis formosana 'Adbane' - sometimes referred to as Tricyrtis formosana 'Taiwan Adbane' - is an exceptional cultivar of Tricyrtis formosana with exquisite speckled lilac flowers that typically have a tinge of blue at the end of the tepals. The throat is a pale yellow. The female parts are impressive and eye-catching with a style that is large and also speckled and the ornate stigmatic lobes are a beautiful contrasting ochrous-red and are split at the ends.
Tricyrtis formosana 'Adbane' favours a moist position that is light and open but shaded during the hottest parts of the day. Morning sun is ideal. It should be sheltered from strong winds. Over time it will form a dense colony with attractive deep green foliage that is randomly dotted with darker green spots.
Showy, highly-desirable and very easy to grow as long as you provide some respite from the slugs and snails.
Highly recommended.
