Actaea matsumurae 'White Pearl', first raised in 1932, was one of the first Actea cultivars to be developed. The genus was then known as Cimicifuga and this cultivar was originally placed in Cimicifuga simplex and is still often referred to as Actea simplex 'White Pearl'. It is a tall growing Actea with slender elegant white bottle-bushes that appear late in the season and has bright green foliage.
Actaea matsumurae 'White Pearl' requires a sheltered, shady, moist location and plenty of room to grow.
