Remusatia pumila is the smallest of the four species of Remusatia and is found across a broad geographical area of Asia including Tibet, Yunnan, Nepal, Bhutan, India and Northern Thailand. Its yellowish-green Elephant Ear foliage is extremely exotic in appearance and is characterised by strong pale silvery-green veining and is pinkish-to-purple on the undersides. Like all the Remusatias it requires a rich moist substrate during the growing season and then to be kept completely dry during its dormancy in winter. The best way to achieve this is to grow them in pots, stop watering them in early October and bring them inside a few weeks later as their leaves die down. They can be kept throughout the winter in their pots somewhere out of the way in a frost-free environment.
