Polygonatum odoratum var. pluriflorum 'Variegatum', Variegated Solomon's Seal, is a particularly beautiful cultivar of this infraspecific taxon of Polygonaton odoratum and has rosy-pink arching stems which bear fragrant pendulous tubular flowers in Spring. The foliage is alternate, elliptic to ovate in shape and irregularly splashed along the margins with a cream-coloured variegation. The flowers are followed by blue-black berries.
Polygonatum odoratum var. pluriflorum 'Variegatum' is a vigourous Solomon's Seal once established and will slowly form a clump by rhizomatous growth. It needs a cool moist and shaded location, ideally under cover of an over-hanging canopy.
Often incorrectly offered as Polygonatum falcatum 'Variegatum'.
