Tetrapanax papyrifer, Rice Paper Plant, is one of the mainstays of the exotic garden and indispensable for creating a jungle effect. With its large palmate foliage it quickly creates a very dramatic presence, growing rapidly to create a large plant. The flowers when they appear in late autumn often coincide with the first frosts and so are often lost. The foliage too succumbs to the frost leaving the woody trunk to weather the winter before erupting again with new growth in mid-Spring.
Essential exotica!

Good plantA good plant, just coming into leaf so a good time to buy it. Therefore looks smaller than I imagined but in a few weeks the leaves will have unfurled and she'll be away for the season. Overall, a good purchase.
