Macleaya cordata 'Flamingo' is a cultivar of Plumed Poppy with an attractive soft shade of pink in the flowers instead of the usual cream-white colour of the type-species.
Plumed Poppy is a robust giant of a plant: a very ornamental perennial with hollow woody stems that grows quickly in the Spring to reach up to 3m in height by the summer when the graceful airy flowering racemes appear. The foliage is large and deeply indented with an intricate pattern of scalloping and its exuberant shape and greyish-olive-blue colour with silvery undersides work well in combination with other exotic-leaved plants.
