Dahlia 'Bishop of Canterbury' was developed by Dahlia breeders, Van der Linden from Hillegom, The Netherlands and first introduced in 2002. It has a very vibrant bloom - the colour of which is very hard to describe: a sort-of bright magenta-cerise with flashes of iridescence where the petals catch the light and hues of deep plum when its in the shade. The anthers are a chrome yellow and form a very visually-pleasing harmony with the petals. The foliage is finely-cut and a very rich dark chocolate-purple colour. The single-form bloom is highly attractive to pollinators.
