Arthropodium cirratum, the New Zealand Rock Lily or Rengarenga, is a clump-forming perennial with lush pale-green fleshy strap-like leaves and extremely beautiful star-like white flowers borne on tall panicles in Spring. It prefers a dry aspect in shade or partial shade and responds well to a well-drained but humus-rich soil.
Not fully hardy in most locations in the UK it needs to be brought in under glass from October through to March and kept dry for the winter. In an unheated glasshouse it is best to take the precaution of covering it with fleece during the winter months. It can gradually be given water from late February onwards and it will then rapidly regain condition. Protect from slugs and snails.
Highly recommended. A choice collectable plant. Limited quantities available.
