Anthuriums with their undemanding cultivational requirements make ideal houseplants. A moist organic humus-rich yet well-aerated and well-drained potting mix and kept away from the direct rays of the sun are their basic needs and they do well in the low-light levels of the average house or winter-time conditions. Keeping them misted and dust-free and liquid-feeding during the growing season makes them very happy indeed. As the autumn days start to get shorter give them less water and keep their foliage moist and their surrounding atmosphere humid with regular mistings. This is a hybrid Anthurium cultivar with the red spathes characteristic of Anthurium andreanum and Anthurium scherzerianum crosses. The type species often grow as epiphytes in the forested mountain slopes and river gullies of Central America where they are endemic.
