Mammillaria polythele 'Nuda' is a horticultural cultivar of Mammillaria polythele that is spineless or relatively spineless. It is sometimes encountered as Mammillaria polythele 'Stachellos' or Mammillaria polythele f nuda, less commonly as Mammillaria polythele 'Inermis'. It is a stout cylindrical cactus growing to about 40cm, sometimes more and sometimes sprawling over as it achieves a venerable old age. This cultivar - as the name suggest is - characterised by its long naked tubercles which lack the spines of the type species.

Throughout the summer Mammillaria polythele 'Nuda' produces many deep magenta flowers around the circumference of its woolly apex, putting on a grand show over many months. It will benefit from being placed outdoors during the summer months and then brought inside again in late September or early October when all watering should stop until March. It is hardy to about -5C but cannot be considered an outdoor cactus in the cold wet UK winters.
