Coprosma propinqua, Mingimingi, is a tough small-leaved evergreen Coprosma from New Zealand with the zig-zag divaricating branch habit that is so typical of many of the smaller shrubs from the New Zealand bush. It forms a thick wiry shrub and produces small purple berries that follow the tiny white flowers. It is hardy in the much of the UK particularly the warmer south and extra care will be needed in colder regions or during colder winter spells. A warm mulch of bark is recommended which also helps to keep its roots moist.
