Uvularia grandiflora, Merrybells or Bellfllowers, is a choice woodlander from the eastern states of the the USA and Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba in Canada. In spring it has large yellow, bell-shaped flowers that hang down attractively below the foliage. The six long yellow tepals have a slight twist in them which adds to their charm.
Uvularia grandiflora forms a large multi-stemmed clump over time and is one of the easiest and most rewarding of woodland plants to grow providing it has a moist, shady aspect with a humus-rich substrate. Mulching with leaf-mould and bark will keep the roots moist and cool.
