Arisaema franchetianum
Arisaema franchetianum is a wonderful Aroid from southwest China with very large green foliage and a maroon and white striped spathe that is strongly curved downwards in a shape resembling a helmet. The foliage has three leaflets arranged in a broad flat umbrella that because of its large overall size and bright-green glossy colour looks quite tropical in effect.
It is native to southwest China where it is found to elevations of 3000m in moist forests in Guizhou, Guangxi, Hunan, Sichuan and Yunnan and across the border into northern Myanmar.
Highly recommended. Rarely available. Limited quantities only. These are sold not as tubers but as well-established emerging plants in 1.5L pots. There are available only for a short window of time before they become too large and difficult to ship safely. Buy them while you can!
