Lamprocapnos spectabilis 'Alba', the white-flowering form of Bleeding Hearts, is the charming well-known woodland perennial that is always a popular favourite. It has dainty pendulous white heart-shaped blooms that dangle from long arching horizontal stems and are a delight to the eye. It thrives in a shady, sheltered spot that has a rich but well-drained soil. Hardy in the UK but it requires protection from a late frost.
