Iris x germanica 'Kent Pride' is an historic tall bearded plicata Iris with stunning chestnut-red standards and chestnut-red falls speckled and veined on a yellow ground with a white blaze around the beards. The foliage has shades of purple. It was bred by P. Hutchison in the village of Wrotham, east of Sevenoaks at the foot of the North Downs. Hybridised in 1958 and introduced the following year, its parentage is (Dora Morris x Benton Susan) x Dancing Sunlight.
'Kent Pride' is a show-stopping visual feast of an Iris and always draws attention and admiration.
