Iris sibirica 'Ruffled Velvet' is a stunningly beautiful cultivar of Siberian Iris with deep amethyst-purple standards and darker purple falls with a yellow splotch on white and black veining. It flowers from June through to July.
Developed in 1973 by Osceola Currier McEwen (1902-2003) it was awarded the Morgan-Wood Award in 1980, the American Iris Society's highest award for Siberian Irises.
