Hesperantha coccinea 'Pink Princess'
Hesperantha coccinea 'Pink Princess', is a pale pink cultivar of Flag Lily. In bud, the colour on the undersides of the petals display as a mid-pink and as the flower opens the upper surface of the petals are revealed as a very delicate pale-pink that contrast with the lemon-yellow throat and the yellow anthers. Originating as a sport of the stronger pink Hesperantha coccinea 'Jennifer' it is also known as Hesperantha coccinea 'Wilfred J. Bryant'.
Hesperantha coccinea 'Pink Princess' can start flowering as early as mid-August, continuing throughout the late summer and autumn into early winter.
All Hesperanthas like a rich, fertile soil that is also well-drained with plenty of added grit. It appreciates full sun and in colder regions will benefit from a sheltered aspect.
