Hesperantha coccinea 'Alba', White Flag lily, is the white-flowering cultivar of Hesperantha coccinea which more typically has a red flower. The delicate white flowers start appearing from about August onwards and continues throughout the autumn months, often into the beginning of winter.
It prefers a rich, fertile but well-drained gritty substrate and full sun, although it will tolerate a partially-shaded aspect. It quickly establishes itself and forms a clump, multiplying and spreading by rhizomatous bulbils.
Hesperantha are ideal cut flowers and make a welcome addition to the autumn cutting garden.
