Hemerocallis 'Catherine Woodbery' is a diploid hybrid first introduced by American daylily breeder, Frank Childs in 1967. It was awarded the American Hemerocallis Society's Award of Merit in 1973. Hemerocallis 'Catherine Woodbery' is a subtle and understated beauty with pale orchid pink petals with white medial stripes and a green throat and has a noticeably strong fragrance and an extended blooming season, flowering from July through to August. Without screaming attention to itself, it is one of those flowers that never fails to draw appreciative admiration. Frank Childs was actively breeding daylilies from the 1950's through to the early 1980s and has over 390 cultivars credited to his name. Operating from his nursery in Jenkinsburg, Georgia he was famous for his subtle and unusual forms.
