Trollius europaeus, Globeflower is a tough perennial with a native range that stretches across northern Europe including the UK. A member of the Ranunculaceae, its yellow flower has a distinctive globe-shaped bud that opens to a large buttercup bloom. The attractive green foliage is deeply divided into toothed lobes and dies down in winter.
Extremely tough and unfussy about its cultivational requirements, Trollius europaeus will do well in just about any corner of the garden but thrives on moist soils.
Fully hardy herbaceous perennial.
