Sedum spurium 'Dragon's Blood'
- Dramatic red foliage and red/pink flowers
- Hardy, ground-covering Sedum
- Drought-resistant
- Ideal for green roofs or vertical gardens
Sedum spurium 'Dragon's Blood', Caucasian or Two Row Stonecrop, is a selected cultivar of the type species that has spectacular dark red to purple scalloped-foliage with dark pink to red flowers. Native to the Caucasus, Iran and Turkey it is a tough, hardy, drought-tolerant ground-cover that is ideal for dry gravel gardens, rockeries, stonewalls, terraces and roof gardens. Its dramatic dark colour makes it a perfect plant to contrast with other green or blue foliage Sedums. In full sun the foliage thickens, turning from green with red margins in the spring to a full rich crimson in the summer.
Sedum spurium 'Dragon's Blood is sometimes encountered by the name Phedimus spurius or by the German cultivar name, 'Schorbuser Blut’.
