Lysimachia nummularia

Lysimachia nummularia, Creeping Jenny is an attractive evergreen perennial with round glossy green leaves and yellow bell-shaped flowers in the summer. It forms a low vigorous groundcover and is especially suited to moist shady or semi-shady conditions. It is ideal to cover large areas of garden that have low-light levels and are not intended to be planted with anything much else and where it can take over and form a permanent lush low carpet. It can be used in much the same way as Soleirolia or Pachysandra but some thought must be given to ensure it doesn't creep into areas where it is not wanted. Alternatively it can be used in containers where its foliage and freely flowering stems can trail down the sides.
