Grevillea ‘Canberra Gem’ is one of the most reliable and toughest of the Grevillias in UK conditions and with good drainage is hardy down to at least -15C, a sub-zero temperature that thankfully we don't see too often. It has clusters of small delicate curling flowers that are a clear rose-pink in colour and it has an astonishingly long flowering period with blooms appearing in early spring and lasting through to mid-summer. It has fine needle-like foliage resembling a rosemary or conifer and is relatively large-growing, becoming a medium sized shrub to 2.5m.

Like all members of the Proteaceae it is intolerant of phosphate fertiliser and should not be fed. A free-draining nutrient-poor soil is perfect and it tolerates dry conditions well.
