Epimedium x rubrum, Red Epimedium is a cross between Epimedium alpinum and Epimedium grandiflorum. A very attractive low ground-covering perennial, Epimedium x rubrum has foliage that colours brownish-red with green venation. The flowers too are visually arresting with spur-like pinkish-purple-red sepals and pale yellow inner petals on tall branching sprays.
An ideal hardy perennial for a shady or semi-shady location it tolerates dry shade and mixes well with other exotic woodlanders.
