Eomecon chionantha

Eomecon chionantha, Snow Poppy, is an attractive herbaceous perennial from China where it grows in damp woodland in humus-rich soils. It has roundish kidney shaped leaves with scalloped edges and produces small poppy-like flowers in the summer months with four pure white petals and contrasting yellow stamens.

Eomecon chionantha spreads by its stoloniferous runners creating in time a useful green groundcover. In ideal damp and shady conditions this growth becomes more vigorous.
