Clerodendrum trichotomum var. fargesii, Farges' Harlequin Glorybower, is a vigourous and fast-growing deciduous tree from China that produces masses of white starry flowers in summer that are followed in autumn by highly-ornamental metallic blue berries that are surrounded by pinkish-red to maroon star-shaped caylces.
A strong-growing plant, Clerodendrum trichotomum var. fargesii will quickly establish itself in a warm sheltered spot in the garden and will need a relatively generous space to accommodate its growth and may need active pruning every year to shape it and to cut back basal suckers.
