Campsis radicans, Trumpet Vine, is a vigourous deciduous climber from the Eastern states of the USA with attractive pinnate foliage and stunning trusses of orange-red trumpet shaped flowers borne from summer through to autumn. It requires a warm sunny sheltered position against a south-facing wall in order to flower freely. Campsis radicans will usually need support when planting and can be trained along supporting wires but will quickly produce clinging aerial roots and can become self -supporting. Strong-growing, it establishes itself with vigour and pruning and shaping will be required as it matures to keep it manageable.
