Fargesia scabrida 'Asian Wonder'

Fargesia Scabrida 'Asian Wonder' is a showy, extremely elegant hardy bamboo that is clumping in habit and non-invasive with graceful narrow foliage and attractive purplish culms that turn green as they develop. 

It is easy to grow and is well-behaved, forming non-running clumps eventually reaching 2m in width. Fargesia Scabrida 'Asian Wonder' appreciates plenty of water in the growing season and does best in a warm semi-shady position where it gets some respite from the full heat of the sun.

A good bamboo for containers and rarely grows more than 3 metres in height.
