Arisaema candidissimum
Arisaema candidissimum is a large Cobra Lily from southwest China and Tibet is and is one of the easiest Arisaemas to grow in UK conditions. The tubers are hardy down to at least -15C and probably lower and as long as they have a gritty well-drained substrate to get them through the wet winter they perform reliably well, eventually creating large clumps.
Growth usually commences in mid June - a little later than most Arisaemas - with a large white or pinkish white spathe that is striped with darker pink vertical lines opening in late June followed by the large leaf with its three leaflets.
These are sold not as tubers but as well-established emerging plants in 2L pots. There are available only for a short window of time before they become too large and difficult to ship safely. Buy them while you can!
